Bumble Boost: Worth the Money? Pros and Cons of Upgrading

Posted on
Bumble Boost

Do you have to pay for the Bumble app to get something out of it? Is upgrading to a paid Bumble Boost subscription worth your money, or is the free version good enough as-is? We’ll be discussing what you get with Bumble Boost, what it costs, and the pros and cons of upgrading to Bumble Boost.

Bumble Boost Price

Bumble Boost first launched at a price point of $9.99/month.

Since then, Bumble Boost subscription prices have gotten slightly cheaper. The prices seem to change dynamically, however, so not everyone sees the exact same numbers. (We assume this depends on factors like location, age, gender, and use of the app.)

At the moment, we’re seeing a price of $7.99/month or $2.99/week. There’s also the option to buy 3 months for $5.00/month or 6 months for $4.17/month.

Features You Get With Bumble Boost

1. BeeLine

Want to be notified the moment that someone right-swipes on you? With BeeLine, you are. Then you can choose if you’d like match with that person immediately.

This works great for people who want matches but don’t have time to swipe.

2. Rematch

If you have an exceptionally busy day, you’re liable to let a great match or two expire without realizing it.

With Rematch, you can reopen communication with an expired match via the tap of a button.

3. BusyBee

The free version of Bumble gives you 24 hours to contact a new match. With BusyBee, you can take as long as you like.

Bumble Boost Pros and Cons

Pros

• The biggest pro is not having to swipe anymore thanks to BeeLine — since you can instantly see who swiped-right on you and choose to match back if you want.

• If you don’t check the Bumble app every day, the Rematch and BusyBee features could save you from missing out on great prospects.

Cons

• If you check Bumble at least once a day, the Rematch and BusyBee features will be wasted on you.

• Nothing about the Bumble Boost upgrade helps you get more or better matches (most users’ #1 issue). If your profile is bad, you’ll get 0 matches even if you pay for Bumble Boost.

Is Bumble Boost Worth It?

Here’s what it comes down to.

Bumble Boost is worth it if: you know what features you’re getting and plan to put them to good use.

Bumble Boost is not worth it if: you assume it will help you get more matches, messages, or dates.

You don’t need Bumble Boost to get matches, nor are you guaranteed more matches if you pay.

On the flip side, it’s possible to get tons of matches with just the free version of Bumble if you have an optimized profile.

If you’re not getting the matches you want, consider testing your profile pics on Photofeeler to see how they’re coming across to women (or men). It’s been shown to increase match rates and match quality a ton.
