What is the Tinder Swipe limit?
Tinder gives users a set amount of free swipes per day or 12-hour period. So, how many swipes can you actually make in one day?
Well, Tinder’s free version’s swipe limit can be irritating. But the worst part is not even knowing how many swipes you have.
Way back when, Tinder used to give everyone 100 swipes per 12-hour period. But unfortunately, that is no longer the case.
New Tinder swipe limit
Now, everyone is given a different number of swipes. We don’t know exactly how this is calculated, but it likely has to do with your gender, age, location, and/or how you use the app.
Tinder rewards connections that move out of the app. Its algorithm picks up on how many messages you’re sending, if you exchange contact info, etc. People who swipe right like their lives are about to end are actually doing themselves a disservice- Tinder will show your profile less.
Statistically, it looks as though young women are getting closer to 100 swipes while men are getting closer to 50. This could have something to do with the 68-32 men-to-women distribution ratio on Tinder.
If I swipe on the same person twice, does that count?
Ever stumble upon the same profile twice, or even three times?! Either this person made a new profile, your network had a bad connection, or it’s just fate (jk). It shouldn’t count in your daily swipe limit– so no worries!
Is it worth upgrading to Tinder Gold to get more swipes?
Not necessarily. To be honest, if you’re having trouble getting matches with Tinder’s free version, chances are you won’t have more luck with the paid version.
With more swipes, you’ll be getting more chances at matching with people. Paying a bit extra for a Premium Tinder experience just means unlimited right and left swipes.
But if your profile sucks, you’ll just get rejected by more people in a short period of time. (It sucks to say it that way, but unfortunately, it’s true!)
To get more matches, you’re better off working on your pics instead.
One really helpful way to get better Tinder pictures is to run yours through Photofeeler.
Choosing profile pics based on Photofeeler scores has been known to increase matches on Tinder a ton (by a whopping 200-400%)!
