Since LinkedIn’s last update and redesign — which rolled out in April 2018 — the ideal LinkedIn profile picture size is 400 x 400 pixels.
However, it’s fine to upload a larger picture as long as it’s square, no larger in file size than 8MB, and does not exceed 4320 pixels in height or 7680 in width.
For a background photo (also known as a “cover” image) — like the one pictured above with the wooden wall and quote — 1584 x 396 pixels is recommended.
