By now you may have heard of Sarahah (the mobile app and its web counterpart, Sarahah.com).
What is Sarahah?
Sarahah is an anonymous messaging app. Users can receive anonymous comments from anyone by making a webpage on Sarahah and sharing the link to it with their social media followers.
According to Sarahah: “Sarahah helps you in discovering your strengths and areas for improvement by receiving honest feedback”.
Sarahah was created in late 2016 and went viral in 2017.
Is Sarahah Dangerous? ☠️
Sarahah can be dangerous if you fall for any of the scams surrounding it, such as “Sarahah Exposed.”
Many sites like this have popped up. They claim they can tell you who sent an anonymous message, but ultimately all they do is steal your personal information. Avoid at all costs!
Bullying and threats
Through a user’s Sarahah page, anyone can send them compliments or criticism. And some people use it to write messages that are downright cruel or threatening.
People using Sarahah have received threats of murder or violence. So if you know you have enemies out there somewhere, you’d best avoid seeing what they’ll write knowing you can’t respond.
Psst… Are You in the US? Use This to See How People See You 😍
If you live in the United States and you’re curious what people honestly think of you, consider trying Photofeeler.
Photofeeler tells you how you’re coming across in pics — if you look attractive, smart, trustworthy, fun, confident, and more. People can leave you extra specific feedback in the form of notes. Plus you can even target a specific gender and age for feedback.
And? Photofeeler is a much safer and more respectful app than Sarahah.
